Like so many families in North Georgia, the Duncan family has travelled each summer to the Florida Panhandle for some quality family time and much needed rest. The Duncan's have so many stories and memories with both their daughters that in addition to an art piece for their family room, we designed a beautiful story book to capture their little slice of heaven.
This is what summer vacation is all about:
Time together, growing up, and laughing all the way.
Enjoy their story and then call us so we can discuss how we can tell you family's story. See you at the beach!

We adopted Jacob into our Whitelake Studio as a part of the family and a graphic intern in the early 2000's. We always love to see our interns grow into bold, brilliant people with their careers and Jacob has always been one of our favorite people. We were really bummed when Jacob left us to pursue his passion for music, but who can hold back such a talented musician, right? Jacob has toured the world with Matt Redman for the past several years and has recently been on tour with Johnnyswim! Last weekend, Jacob invited us to go backstage at the Buckhead Theater and believe me, we jumped at the opportunity. It has always been on my Bucket List to be a groupie, and I couldn't have been more excited. We were able to get up close and even take some photos ON the stage! The crowd was great and we could feel the love for this awesome band. Fresh off their appearance at Chip and Joanna Gaines' Silobration in Waco, Texas, Johnnyswim played to a sold out crowd here in Atlanta. Amanda, Abner, and the band were all so authentic and welcoming. It was a true honor to be a part of this concert experience and to see Jacob shine. His entire family and several friends also came out to see the show and Bryan was able to get a big group photo in front of the stage. A big hug and huge smile from Jacob after the show made it a beautiful night, and Bryan was able to capture just that in these, our favorite shots from the night.....
1. a curative power or quality
2. any act, tall, or program that relieves tension
Join us this fall for some stress-relief here at the portrait garden. We believe that we have a little slice of heaven here and what better tie of the year to enjoy some quality time with your family. Put the phones away and compares.
Enjoy all that nature has to offer this autumn season. Below are images that can be considered the end of summer to the very beginning of fall. The Holzapfel family took in all the beauty of North Georgia and Lake Lanier together with lots of hugs and laughter.Set aside some special time for your family this fall. We look forward to seeing you.
Summer is filled with too many activities to list: waterspouts, baseball, hiking, horseback riding, picnics, boating, and family reunions, to name a few.
Some of my fondest, most enduring memories growing up with my siblings, are activities such as these. Now that my own children are in college and high school, I find myself looking back at so many of the images captured of "summertime memories" that seem like "just yesterday".
Some of these memories are in the form of portraits and art pieces on the walls in our home and many others are part of a collection of albums - artistically designed by my wife Blayne over the years. It's incredible - the depth of what she has put together - A Legacy for our family and especially out children. Please enjoy these samples of summertime memories and if you need to have Blayne help your family stories -

"Sunflowers : A 20 Year Tradition"
For the past 20 years, we have been fortunate to capture wonderful memories for hundreds of families in the sunflowers. The field is part of the Anderson farm, located in south Forsyth, and owned by Sharon and Dennis Anderson. Dennis has carried on the tradition of planting sunflowers, started by his father a generation before. We have photographed Anderson's own (2) daughters over the years including a bridal session a few years ago.
This "tradition" has become an important part of many North Georgia families and we are honored to play a small role in that. Many parents choose to do sunflower sessions for their children at various times in their growth and maturation. (From toddlers to high school seniors, engagement, to the whole family) Start a new family tradition, if you haven't already.
Remember, the Anderson family sells fresh-cut sunflowers by the honor-system-where you pick a fresh bundle and insert your money in a small box at their little "store".
This takes you back to simpler times and powerful memories.
